Just make your own...Like i'm doing, just for this game. Yes, it's sad but I needed an upgrade here soon anyways. The Alien Ware is better (Rechecked the RAM) hands down.

The only thing that is iffy is the video card. I'd upgrade it to a GeForce 6200 if you could possibly.

Well good for you. But honestly I don't care. I did not ask about making my own comp, I asked which of those two comps is better. If you dont have a suggestions then don't bother posting in this thread.

the second, but i dont want u to suffer through that card. Get a NIVIDIA Gefore 6800 from Newegg.com and insert it in there. Its easy enough, i should kno, im 12 and i made a laptop already.

The Alienware is much better, because it has a better processor and larger amount of RAM. The Dell has faster RAM, but the difference between 512mB of RAM and 1Gb of RAM is as wide as the Grand Canyon, and DDR400 is fantastic anyway.

Other than that, my only issues with that Alienware are the graphics card and the operating system. The 9550 will play games pretty well, but as it's an SE I think that the memory on it is cut down from 128bit architecture to 64bit architecture, which is plenty slower. Also, it's not a big deal, but if possible try to get XP Pro instead of XP Home, you won't regret it.

The GeforceFX 5600 is better than the Radeon 9500 SE as the SE has 64bit memory and not 128bit memory, but don't expect much performance from either.

Never ever get Dell, that's my suggestion. Get the Alienware, their computers are known for gaming.

I've used a couple of Dells for gaming and they were just fine. The thing between the two computers mentions is that they both have good parts except for the video card. It's really pointless to have all that ram and a high speed cpu if you're gonna have a value priced video card.

What was the reason you decided on looking at these two PC's?

Ok, i know you want a Gaming machine or you wouldn't be going for power. Is there another reason? Or do you just have a stack of cash and really don't care?

Also, Principa Discordia, was there reasoning in XP Pro over Home Edition. As far as I'm aware, all you need to make the Home Edition into Pro Edition is on the CD, it's just not installed when you install XP.

Please, anyone correct me if I'm wrong, but it's something i learned a while ago. For the life of me, can't remember where, but i think is was PC Pro magazine in the UK. Don't even ask me to find the article either.
